BC Calc® performs engineering analysis to help our customers size beams, joists, columns, studs and tall walls for their building projects. It is simple to use, yet flexible enough to analyze a variety of common applications. The user enters the member geometry, adds loads, holes and other relevant data and then selects a product for analysis. The program helps the user identify which of Boise Cascade's engineered wood products meet the demands of the application.
After the analysis has been run, the user can create an easy-to-read PDF design report that clearly shows important span and load information as well as the analysis results.
The Next Generation of BC Calc Software
This next generation of BC Calc was redesigned from the ground up with a focus on productivity and expanded functionality. Existing users will note a similar, but enhanced user interface and experience that will allow them to easily transition to the new application. The same features from the desktop version are combined with new features exclusive to the web application. The table below highlights a few key new features and the benefits they provide.
|Web-based application||Always run the current version, no downloads or updates to manage; no installation, security, driver or other compatibility problems|
|Runs in Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome and Safari browsers||Accommodates multiple operating systems, iOS and Android tablets|
|New stud and wall member types||Easily analyze individual studs or model and analyze an entire wall complete with openings|
|Redesigned user interface||New users quickly get up to speed, existing users find productivity enhancers|
|Linked members||Loads transfer to supporting members, support conditions automatically set for supported member; dynamically updates with changes|
|BC FloorValue®||Analyze joist members to determine Standard, Enhanced or Premium rating; check floor sheathing span between joists for soft spots|
|Updated member report||Improved readability; create a calculation package with a cover page and member summary table|
|New span input options||Select dimension reference points for each support and view architectural style dimensions|
BC CALC® performs engineering analysis to help our customers size beams and I-joists for their building projects. It is simple to use, yet flexible enough to analyze most joist and beam applications. The user enters span, load, and hole information, and the program analyzes which of Boise Cascade’s engineered wood products are necessary for a project.
After the analysis has been run, the user may print an easy-to-read design report that clearly shows span and load information as well as analysis results. The program includes a comprehensive Help menu.
